Our manufacturing facility is situated in the heart of the Midlands and it’s where all of the fun happens. We are experienced furniture designers and understand the importance of bringing ideas to life. Your furniture is manufactured to order, giving you the opportunity to customize the design & specification prior to production. Our professional working methods ensure that we work efficiently throughout the process to deliver projects on time and on budget.

The mrfdesign team is made up from a lot of Steve’s & Andy’s with the exception of Matt, George
and Eny; we are a small group that packs a punch!
The quality of our upholstery work is a key attribute, reflecting our goal for excellence & professionalism within the business. With three BA (Hons) design degrees plus an MA qualification, and many years’ experience in manufacturing, mrfdesign has established a good reputation within the UK contract furniture market. A wide range of skill sets is represented within the team with major strengths ranging from problem-solving, manufacturing flexibility and customer service. Our direct involvement with clients to achieve their design requirements is a prime objective and, along with a complete project management facility, forms a significant part of the company’s USP.
Steve Maher
Office Manager
Since graduating in 3D Design from Leicester Polytechnic in 1984, Steve has worked in the contract furniture industry for 37 years.
In addition to working as Design Manager at Hostess Furniture Ltd from 1987-2001, he taught design undergraduates from 1990 to 2008 as a visiting lecturer at the University of Central England in Birmingham (now Birmingham City University).
After 20 years’ service as a director, Steve now works part-time, having stepped back from the business in September 2021, but continues to manage the Accounts & Marketing for the company.

Steve graduated in furniture design from Nottingham Trent in 1984.
Steve has worked in the field of contract furniture and design with a portfolio of successful products being marketed for both Hostess Furniture and mrf.
Along with Steve Maher, he has helped to identify, create and design to product briefs as well as working with our suppliers, architects and designers to deliver solutions to the clients requirements. Project management and close involvement in the manufacturing process are an integral part of his role in mrf.
Steve Ellitts
Director
Steve has worked in the upholstery trade since leaving school and in 1999 he set up his own contract upholstery business. He has upholstered products for some of the country’s leading contract furniture companies.
Supplying and working closely with Maher Reynolds Furniture since 2005, it was a natural progression to join forces in September 2009 to give greater manufacturing depth to mrf‘s market presence.
