Students’ Union Bar at UWE, Bristol Phase 1

mrfdesign have just completed Phase 1 of a furniture scheme for the new Student’s Union building at the University of the West England, Bristol.

Working closely with interior designers, Matthews Mee based in Wakefield, the UWE Facilities – Estates and Student Union management, mrfdesign have developed a booth and bench seat version of the s410 wingback sofa design with veneered outside back panels.

Striking fabrics were specified on the main back panel of the s410 wingback seating to add a strong visual impact to the interior including:

Harlequin Makena, a strong abstract geometric design in multi bright colours contrasting with the leather seat and top head roll.

Kirby Piccadilly Havana, an intricate geometric moquette reminiscent of passenger seating on London Underground Tube trains.

Phase 2, due to be installed by late September, includes bespoke circular booth seating on castors. These circular feature units were designed to create communal seating areas with a mix of high and low backs; watch this space for new photography.
